Records from Turkey: Zonguldak Province ( Szalay 1912); Erzurum, Hakkari, Muş and Van Provinces ( Oezkan 1982); Kayseri Province ( Özkan et al. 1996); Elazıġ Province (Erman & Özkan 2000). Habitat: Small ponds and pools of lowland streams, often in temporary waters.

Distribution: Southern Europe, Northern Africa, South Africa, Asia Minor , India and China.
