( Figure 47 View FIGURES 44 – 50 )

Megacoelum pallidicorne Poppius, 1915a: 31 View in CoL (as new species); Carvalho 1959: 161 (catalog); Schuh 1995: 834 (catalog), 2002–2013 (online catalog).

Material examined. Type specimen: Holotype ♀ by monotypy: PHILIPPINE ISLANDS: LUZON: Los Baños, Baker leg., type 10178 ( MZHF) [The specimen bears the Poppius’ original handwritten identification label with the mention “ Megacoelum pallidicorne n. sp. ”].

Diagnosis. Body yellowish to dark reddish-brown. Head yellowish brown, eyes brownish red to gray, yellow posteriorly. First antennal segment yellow with brown markings, second antennal segment yellow, brown apically, third antennal segment yellow, fourth segment lacking. Pronotal collar yellow, bearing some black erect setae. Anterior part of pronotum, including callosities, yellowish orange. Pronotal disk yellow, with a wide dark red stripe along its posterior margin, the margin itself darker. Legs yellow to orange yellow, tibial spines black. Scutellum yellow medially and apically, red brown anteriorly and laterally. Hemelytra brownish red, punctation very narrow, shallow and dense, less dense on exocorium; veins raised; cuneus red. Dorsal pilosity white, recumbent or semi-erect.

Discussion. The type of O. pallidicornis conforms to our diagnosis of Orientomiris on the basis of its external anatomy; hence we suggest the new combination.
