Carvalhocoris Carpintero & Chérot, 2002: 40–41 (as new genus) [type-species by original designation Carvalhocoris scutellosum Carpintero & Chérot, 2002 ]. Carvalhocapsus Chérot & Carpintero, 2006: 91 (as nomen novum for Carvalhocoris Carpintero & Chérot, 2002, a primary junior homonym of Carvalhocoris Leston, 1953). Diagnosis. Body sub-oblong, total length 5.1, slightly convex laterally, and uniformly brown to black ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ); eyes wide, posterior margin contiguous with pronotal collar; labium reaching to procoxae; first antennal segment elongate, bearing some stiff, erect setae; pronotum with sparse, short, recumbent setae; scutellum conspicuously swollen, ampule-like, shining black; metafemora not Phytocoris -like; metatibia slightly curved, the tibial spines yellow; hemelytra dull, with reduced and shallow punctation, with black, short and recumbent setae and longer and erect setae along the veins and with a tuft of black, erect setae on apical area of clavus; the veins raised. Secondary gonopore complete, devoid of sclerite or long hairs; phallus devoid of comb, with an elongated furrowed phallic support and a small toothed sclerite posterior to secondary gonopore (spiculum); parieto-vaginal rings reduced, rounded, devoid of sclerite or anterior projection; margins of dorso-labiate plate reinforced; dorsal process of posterior wall present, divided, median process elongated; interramal lobes (E structures sensu Slater, 1950 ) reduced; H structures elongated.
