E. busiris View in CoL diOEers from all other species of the group in having black hair on the pleura and a conspicuous band of white scales on the second abdominal tergum only, those on succeeding terga are narrow and composed of transparent scales giving the posterior part of the abdomen a greyish appearance. Greathead (1967) provided a full description and illustrated the male genitalia.
Diagnosis
As E. luteicosta but: black hair on pleura. Orange±yellow hair on mesonotum and t1. Bands on all terga but only t2 with a broad band of white scales, others narrow and composed of transparent scales. Legs yellow with black scales. The Entoto Hills and Harar specimens listed below have cell r divided by a cross vein 5
(®gure 1), otherwise similar to E. luteicosta but with darker infuscation and larger spots. Male genitalia ( Greathead, 1967; ®gure 90) similar to E. luteicosta but epiphallus narrower. Length of body, 10±12 mm; of wing, 11±15 mm.
