Cinnyris gutturalis inaestimata Hartert (in Ansorge), 1899: 351 (East Africa).

HOLOTYPE: AMNH 689778 , adult [male], collected at Dar-es-Salaam, 06.51S, 39.18E (Times Atlas), Tanzania, in November 1895. From the Rothschild Collection.

COMMENTS: Hartert did not designate a type in the original description, but apparently the above specimen is the only one he had from East Africa at the time inaestimata was described. Later, he ( Hartert, 1920a: 426) listed a specimen collected at Dar-es-Salaam in November 1895 as the type of inaestimata, thereby confirming its type status.
