Parus atricristatus castaneifrons Sennett, 1887: 28 (Bee Co., Texas).

SYNTYPES: AMNH 86336, adult male, and AMNH 86337, adult female, collected at Aransas, Bee County, Texas, USA, on 4 April 1886, by J.M. Priour (nos. 33 and 34,

respectively). From the collection of Geroge B. Sennett (nos. 3106 and 3107, respectively).

COMMENTS: Although Sennett had four specimens of this hybrid, he designated the above two specimens syntypes, thereby excluding the others from the type series (ICZN, 1999: 77, Art. 72.4.6).
