Discussion. Cerithium obliteratum von Koenen, 1891 , from the Rupelian of the North Sea Basin, differs from Bayania danubica clearly in its strongly convex whorls (von Koenen 1891: 646, pl. 45, figs 15a–b).

Central Paratethys. Egerian (late Oligocene/Early Miocene): South Slovakian Basin: Štúrovo ( Slovakia) ( Ondrejíčková & Seneš 1965).
