Type material. Lectotype designated herein. Natural History Museum (London, UK), illustrated in J. de C. Sowerby (1832: pl. 39, fig. 11).

Type locality. Hartberg ( Austria) .

Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Sarmatian (Volhynian).

Discussion. The illustration shows a morph of Tiaracerithium pictum with delicate spiral sculpture and weak beads.
