* Bogatschevia bogatschevi A. Ali-Zade et Kabakova View in CoL n. sp. —A.A. Ali-Zade 1969: 156, pl. 49, fig. 1.

Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated by Ali-Zade (1969: pl. 49, fig. 1), SL: 8.0 mm, MD: 6.0 mm, Earth Science Museum at Moscow State University (The Museum of Natural History).

Type locality. Naftalan ( Azerbaijan) .

Stratigraphy. Late Pliocene/Pleistocene, Akchagylian.

Discussion. This species is based on two syntypes, of which only one was illustrated by Ali-Zade (1969). The specimen is stout and consists of four whorls with strongly inflated, convex periphery and markedly incised suture. The last whorl bears two indistinctly beaded spiral cords below the swelling, suggesting, that it is homologous to the adapical spiral cord. We interpret this strange shell as pathologic specimen of Potamides caspius .

Eastern Paratethys. Akchagylian (Late Pliocene/Pleistocene): Caspian Basin: Naftalan ( Azerbaijan) (A.A. Ali-Zade 1969).
