Geographical distribution: Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and Brazil.
Distribution in Brazil: Northeast Region (MA, CE, PE) ( Keffer 1997).
Comments: Ribeiro et al. (2010) recorded the species from RJ, based on Paiva (2004). The material was checked and the specimens are representatives of C. volxemi (Montandon, 1895) , not C. montei .
