Geographical distribution: United States of America, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, and Brazil.
Distribution in Brazil: North Region (RR) ( Todd 1961).
Comments: Representatives of G. hungerfordi are known from three localities in the North Region of Brazil: Surumú and Marari, in RR, and Rio Branco, which, as mentioned for G. amazonensis , is a river that flows through RR and AM.
