Geographical distribution: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina.

Distribution in Brazil: North, Central-West, and Southeast regions (PA, AM, TO, AC, MT, RO, MS, SP, RJ) ( Pereira & Melo 2007; Ribeiro 2007).

Comments: Menke and Lauck (1962) recorded the species from a locality in Rio Araguaia (as part of GO), which is now situated on TO.
