Geographical distribution: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay.
Distribution in Brazil: South Region (SC, RS) ( Lauck 1964; Lanzer-de-Souza 1980).
Comments: This species has been recorded from RN, but considering its distribution, the possibility of misidentification is very high, and the record is not considered here.
