Geographical distribution: Canada, United States of America, Mexico, Cuba, Aruba, Colombia, Curaçao, Bonaire, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, Guyanas, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay. Introduced into the Hawaiian and Canary Islands.
Distribution in Brazil: North Region (AM) ( Pereira & Melo 2007).
Comments: This species probably also occurs in the Southeast Region (MG) (Nieser & Melo 1997).
