( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 24. 1 )

Ptychotrichos [sic] (?) fenestrifer Zerny, 1931a: 254 . Holotype male [by monotypy]: [ BRAZIL, Pará, Santarém], Taperinha (Hagmann); with two labels: printed label “Taperinha b. Santarem, G. Hagmann” with date handwritten on the underside “ v.1920 ”, and handwritten label “ Ptychotrichos (?) fenestrifer Zerny ♂ type ”.

Current combination. Ptychotricos fenestrifer Zerny, 1931 .

Condition of the type. Left antenna broken and right hind wing damaged. Middle and hind legs missing on the right side.

Remarks. This species was described in Ptychotricos Schaus, 1894 with a question mark indicating uncertainty with respect to its placement in the genus. It indeed does not seem to belong in a monophyletic concept of the genus, but to be more closely related to species currently placed in the genera Heliura Butler, 1876b and Delphyre Walker, 1854 (L. R. Pinheiro, unpublished data), such as H. excavata ( Dognin, 1910) and D. maculosa ( Hampson, 1898) .
