Diagnosis. Males of the species resembles to C. lorenzo   sp. nov., by the presence of pairs of enlarged setae in the inner margin of the chelicerae paturon ( Figs 4D View FIGURES 4 , 5A View FIGURES 5 ̅D, 23E), but can be distinguished form the last by the larger eyes and narrower clypeus ( Figs 3G View FIGURES 3 , 23E View FIGURES 23 ). Females resembles those of C. chicote   sp. nov., C. lavras   sp. nov. and C. sternalis   sp. nov. by the shape of the internal genitalia ( Figs 4B View FIGURES 4 , 19I View FIGURES 19 , 22F View FIGURES 22 , 30H View FIGURES 30 ), can be distinguished from the last by the less projected posterior portion of sternum and from the other two species by the shape of the genitalia with shorter lateral apodems and oval, elongate receptaculum ( Figs 2G View FIGURES 2 , 4B View FIGURES 4 ).

Distribution. This species is know from southern Mexico, USA (Florida) and the Caribbean region to northern Argentina.

Remarks. The type specimens of G. wasmanniae   have been examined and are clearly conspecific with C. simplex   . We likewise treat Lucetia distincta   as a synonym of C. simplex   based on the description and illustrations provided by Dumitresco & Georgesco (1983).
