Type material. Male holotype and female paratype from Lavras, -21.24573°, -44.99978°, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Jun. 15-20, 2000, deposited in IBSP 86344 PBI_ OON 25682 View Materials and IBSP 86334 PBI_ OON 25683 View Materials , respectively.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality. It is to be treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Males differ from all other species of the group by the deeply incised tip of the conductor ( Fig. 20G View FIGURES 20 ); females are similar to those of C. chicote   sp. nov. by the shape of the internal genitalia with broad and rounded anterior areae narrow and triangular lateral apodemes and rounded receptaculum ( Figs 19I View FIGURES 19 , 22F View FIGURES 22 ); the species differ from the last by the lateral apodems being uniformly narrowed distally and by the abdomen with proportionally longer postepigastric scutum ( Figs 19B View FIGURES 19 , 22B View FIGURES 22 ).
