Comments. The genus Streblocera Westwood was previously placed in the tribe Perilitini ( Belokobylskij, 2000) , recently Stingenberg et al. (2015) reinstated the tribe Townesilitini, including this genus, which has a worldwide distribution, around 110 described species and currently six subgenera: Asiastreblocera , Cosmophoridia , Eutanycerus , Lecythodella , Streblocera , and Villocera . Only the subgenus Lecythodella is known for the Neotropical region, with a single male specimen described from Peru ( Enderlein, 1912; Yu et al., 2016). The species here described agrees with the description of the subgenus Eutanycerus Foerster given by Chen & Achterberg (1997). This subgenus has been previously recorded occurring in the Palearctic and Oriental regions.

This is the first record of this subgenus for South America. The occurrence of this genus is rare, compared with other Euphorinae genera observed in the Brazilian fauna.
