PTYCHOPTERIDAE View in CoL View at ENA

Bittacomorphella thaiensis ALEXANDER, 1953 b View in CoL (p. 98) and Ptychoptera chalybeata ALEXANDER, 1956 b View in CoL (p. 75) were described from Thailand. We managed to capture the former species, which is still considered to be endemic (7 indiv.). We have no specimens of Ptychoptera View in CoL from Thailand.

Bittacomorphella thaiensis ALEXANDER, 1953 View in CoL – 2 m: PF04/3 (Doi Suthep View in CoL ); 2 m: PF04/8 (Doi Inthanon); 1 m: PF04/11 (Doi Suthep View in CoL ); 2 m: PF04/12 (Doi Suthep View in CoL ). Its description was based on two females from Chiang Mai (Doi Chom Cheng and nr Wat at Doi Suthep View in CoL ), so all but two specimens were captured at its type locality. The peculiarities of this phantom crane fly inspired us to publish its habitus figure here (Fig. 1) .
