Distribution in the Balkans. Greece: Cephalonia Island: Sami, road to Argostoli (type locality) ( Strasser 1974). World distribution. Endemic to the island of Cephalonia, Greece.
Remarks. Described on the basis of one male, never found since the original description. Although obviously different, it is remarkably similar to M. leucadium , from the neighbouring island, Lefkada, and M. recticauda from Corfu Island.
