( Figs. 92–93)

Pseudoscirtothrips imbimbiachetae Bournier, 1979: 8–10 View in CoL .

Mycterothrips imbinbiachetae (Bournier) ; Bhatti, 1990b: 242.

Diagnosis. Body uniformly yellow. Head with cheeks straight; mouthcone relatively long and pointed at apex, with slender maxillary palpi but not reaching mesothorax ( Fig. 92). Ocellar setae I absent, II often absent, setae III situated near anterior margin of posterior ocelli. Antennal segment II with some microtrichial rows. Pronotum almost smooth medially, with about 30 discal setae slightly stout. Mesonotum without CPS anteromedially; median pair of setae near posterior margin. Metascutum sculptured longitudinally but weakly and irregularly reticulated at middle; median pair of setae near anterior margin. Abdominal terga II to VIII with numerous ciliate microtrichia on lines of sculpture, smooth medially ( Fig. 93); tergum II with three lateral marginal setae ( Fig. 93); tergum VIII with B4 setae minute; tergum IX without CPS and with a few microtrichia on posterior margin at middle; sterna without discal setae. Male is unknown.

Specimens examined. Angola: Paratypes (2 females) of Pseudoscirtothrips imbimbiachetae [Dundo, Luanda, flowerbearing branches of Imbimbiacheta, v1949, A. de Barros Machado] ( CIRD) .

Comments. In the original description, ocellar setae I and II are said to be present in this species, although they are not shown in the text figure. However, in two paratype females examined in this study both pairs of setae are absent in one paratype ( Fig. 92), and setae I are absent in the other .
