Diagnosis. Body uniformly brown to dark brown; antennal segments III and IV pale; fore wings brown with base slightly pale. Head with cheeks straight ( Fig. 94). Antennal segment II with some rows of microtrichia. Pronotum with about 20 discal setae, with a pair of elongate anteromarginal setae subequal in length to posteromarginal setae I ( Fig. 94). Mesonotum with a pair of CPS anteromedially; median pair of setae near posterior margin. Metascutum irregularly reticulated medially; median pair of setae near anterior margin. Abdominal terga without ciliate microtrichia along lines of sculpture, often with small microtrichia irregularly, smooth medially, posterior margin of terga V or VI to VII with microtrichia developed laterally; tergum II with four lateral marginal setae; terga VI to VIII with B4 setae minute; sterna without discal setae. Male with antennal segment VI distinctly longer than that of female, with more than 20 setae and with microtrichia on ventral surface only; abdominal tergum IX with a pair of CPS, SB1 setae about half length of B1 setae; sterna without discal setae. Hypomere dilated at apex.

Specimens examined. Japan: Holotype (female), Akita Pref., Honjou City, side of the river Koyoshi­gawa, on leaves of Salix sp. [ Salicaceae ], 9­vii­1988, S. Okajima ( TUA). 2 females, Kanagawa Pref., Kawasaki City, Noborito, side of the river Tama­gawa, host unknown, 4­ix­1997, Y. Yamaguchi ( FU). 13 females, Niigata Pref., Yasuda­cho, side of the river Agano­gawa , on leaves of Salix sp. , 30­iv­2000, M. Masumoto ( TUA). 16 females and 7 males, Hokkaido, Sapporo City, Hassama, on leaves of Salix sp. , 30­vi­ 2002, T. Hayase ( TUA). 1 female, Hokkaido, Shirataki , on dead tree, 9­viii­1997, T. Tsutsumi ( FU).
