Mycterothrips albidicornis (Knechtel)

Mycterothrips albidicornis (Knechtel) ; Bhatti, 1969: 378. Diagnosis. Body uniformly pale. Head with cheeks straight ( Fig. 10). Antennal segment II with microtrichial rows, III and IV with forked sense­cones almost as long as segment V, and widest at distal third, VI with 9–11 setae ( Fig. 11). Mesonotum without CPS anteromedially; median pair of setae situated far from posterior margin ( Fig. 12). Metascutum weakly sculptured with longitudinal anastomosing striae medially; median pair of setae situated near anterior margin ( Fig. 12). Abdominal terga without ciliate microtrichia on lines of sculpture, smooth medially; tergum II with three lateral marginal setae; tergum VIII or terga VII and VIII with B4 setae minute, or terga V (or VI) to VIII with B4 setae minute gradually; tergum IX without CPS; sterna without discal setae.

Germany: 1 female, Hessen, Riedeibach, Taunus , Juniperus communis , 25­viii­1964, R . zur Strassen ( SMF). 1female, Un­Franken, Kalbenstein ( Karlstadt / Main ) von belaubten, Quercus robur , 14­ix­1973, R . zur Strassen ( SMF) . Georgia (Trans­Kaukasus): 1 female, Stausee bei Tiflis, 650m, Fraxinus sp. , 13­viii­1968, R . zur Strassen ( SMF). 4 females, data unknown, in Knechtel Collection ( IBK) .
