Description: ♀: Body length 17 mm. Flagellum with 43 flagellomeres, slightly lanceolate; 1 st flagellomere 2.4× longer than wide, 2 nd flagellomere 2.7× longer than wide, combined length 0.58× eye length; 13 th flagellomere square, widest flagellomeres c.1.4× wider than long. Temple slightly and roundly narrowed behind eye. OED 1.3× and OOD 1.2× ocellar diameter. Frons and face with coarse punctures, granulate. Clypeus rather densely punctate, smooth. MI 0.5. Gena with scattered punctures ventrally, laterally 1.2× wider than eye.

Mesosoma with brownish hairs. Notaulus slightly impressed in frontal 1/5 of mesoscutum. Mesoscutum densely punctate and granulate, ± opaque. Mesopleuron and metapleuron with dense punctures, partly striate; juxtacoxal carina partly present. Scutellum moderately elevated, slightly longer than wide, without lateral carina, with scattered punctures. Propodeum rounded. Areae basalis and superomedia usually confluent; area superomedia heart-shaped, wider than long, anterior transversal carina indistinct. Area externa granulate and with few punctures. Hind coxa densely rugose-punctate, with small elevated scopa apico-ventrally. Hind femur 3.8× longer than wide, with dense but superficial punctures. 3 rd mid tarsomere 1.4× longer than wide.

Areolet pentagonal, frontal distance between veins 2rs-m and 3rs-m 2× their width; vein 2m-cu slightly distad its middle. Vein 1cu-a postfurcal by 2× its width.

Lateral field of postpetiolus c.0.4× as wide as median field, superficially punctate; median field with smoothened aciculation. Gastrocoelus strongly impressed. Thyridium oblique, c.0.8× as wide as the interval. 2 nd tergite 1.05× wider than long. 2 nd to 4 th tergites densely punctate; 2 nd and 3 rd tergites rugose medially, 2 nd tergite strongly striate between gastrocoeli. 7 th tergite 1.5× wider than long. Seen from dorsal, ovipositor sheath c.0.5× as long as 7 th tergite.

Color: Black. Stripes on flagellomeres 8‒11, narrow frontal orbit, apical 2/3 of scutellum and apical band of postpetiolus yellowish. Metasoma sometimes with weak bluish shine; 2 nd and 3 rd tergites black or with narrow reddish hind margins. Legs black; fore tibia yellowish frontally. Pterostigma reddish-brown.

♂: Body length 17 mm. Flagellum with 39‒40 flagellomeres, 1 st flagellomere 2.3× longer than wide. Tyloids on flagellomeres 7‒18/19, wide-oval, centrally deposited, 0.8× as long as the flagellomeres. Temple moderately and roundly narrowed behind eye. OED 1.3× and OOD 1.2× ocellar diameter. Frons with superficial punctures or transversely rugose-punctate. Face densely punctate and granulate. Clypeus densely punctate. MI 0.4‒0.5.

Notaulus distinctly impressed in frontal 1/5 of mesoscutum. Mesoscutum with pale hairs, densely punctate and granulate, ± opaque. Mesopleuron and metapleuron with dense punctures, juxtacoxal carina present. Scutellum moderately elevated, square or slightly longer than wide, without lateral carina, with dense punctures. Propodeum rounded. Areae basalis and superomedia usually confluent; area superomedia heart-shaped, about as long as wide, anterior transversal carina indistinct. Area externa with fine striae and few punctures. Fore metatarsus with blunt apical tooth. Hind femur 4.2× longer than wide.

Lateral field of postpetiolus c.0.5× as wide as median field, punctate, median field punctate and aciculate. Gastrocoelus strongly impressed. Thyridium transverse, c.1.0× as wide as the interval, the interval narrower than the median field of postpetiolus. 2 nd tergite 1.05× wider than long. 2 nd to 4 th tergites densely punctate; 2 nd tergite completely aciculate medially, 3 rd and 4 th tergites only in basal halfs.

Color: Black. Stripes on flagellomeres 8/9‒12, often side of clypeus, narrow inner orbit, sometimes collare and hind edge of pronotum, subtegular ridge, apical 2/3 or complete scutellum and apical band of postpetiolus yellow. Legs black; fore and mid femora apically and fore tibia frontally yellowish; fore tarsus brownish; hind tibia diffusely reddish-brown in basal half. Wings with slight yellowish tint, pterostigma reddish-brown or ochreous.

Remark s: In contrast to the European material, Japanese males often have posterolateral ivory spots on 1 st and 2 nd tergites, but they are otherwise typical.

Distribution: Transpalaearctic, Japan (Hokkaido and Honshu), China and Korea.
