Key to species of adult Cycadophila occurring with Cycas debaoensis

1 Head dorsally flattened, clypeus flat in lateral view ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 C, 5C); ventral interocular distance <1/3 head width; pronotal angles rounded, surface near anterior angle more convex, lateral margins evenly arched most of length, basally appearing rounded ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 D, 5A); body always yellow-brown, elytra never solid color, with dark maculation along part of suture.... 2

- Head appearing dorsally ‘swollen’, clypeus convex in lateral view ( Figs. 8 View FIGURE 8 E, 9E); ventral interocular distance> 1/2 head width; pronotal angles more sharply angulate, surface near angle more reflexed, lateral margin parallel most of length, basally appearing more quadrate ( Figs. 8 View FIGURE 8 A, 9C); body dark brown, elytra unicolored or with dark maculation along part of suture and sometimes part of lateral margin.......................................................................... 3

2 Protibia distinctly dilated distally (more prominent in males), with short, stout, ventrally directed spinule fringe ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E); supraocular stria long, reaching anterior inner angle of eye ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C); dark elytral mark, usually bluntly rounded anteriorly ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A).................................................................... Cycadophila debaonica , n. sp.

- Protibia narrow distally, with fine distally directed setal fringe, without stout spinules ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 D); supraocular stria short, not reaching middle of eye ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 A); elytral mark usually acutely narrowed anteriorly ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A)..................................................................................................... Cycadophila fupingensis , n. sp.

3 Body larger, length> 4.0 mm, entirely brown, lacking color pattern ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 A); supraocular stria strong, reaching middle of eye; male hind tibial inner swelling large, angulate ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 F); China, India, Thailand............ Cycadophila nigra (Gorham)

- Body smaller, length < 3.5mm, with or without color pattern ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 A); supraocular stria weak, occupying basal 1/4 of eye; male hind tibial inner swelling small, rounded ( Figs. 10 View FIGURE 10 B–C); China.............. Cycadophila yunnanensis (Grouvelle)
