status

sp. nov.

Stegana (Oxyphortica) chuanjiangi Zhang and Chen , sp. nov.

(Figures 2(f), 4(b), 5(g) and 8).

Diagnosis

Aedeagus strongly broadened mediolaterally, wider than long, not bifid apically ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (c, d)). The 3.9% interspecific genetic distance to S. (O). dawa sp. nov. is one of the smallest interspecific distances ascertained within this subgenus; see under that species.

Description

Clypeus brownish yellow. Palpus yellow. Mesoscutum yellow medially, with two pairs of broad, brown to dark brown longitudinal stripes sublaterally ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 (b)). Scutellum brown to dark brown medially, yellow along margin ( Figure 4 View Figure 4 (b)). Katepisternum yellow, slightly brownish anteriorly. Wing greyish basally, greyish brown distally, posterior crossvein and neighbouring longitudinal veins darkened (Figure 2(f)). Abdominal tergites: 1st yellow; 2nd and 3rd yellow medially, dark brown posterolaterally, anteromedially with one small brownish patch on 2nd; 4th to 6th tergites mostly dark brown, yellow along anterior margins, with brownish yellow to yellow longitudinal stripes medially ( Figure 5 View Figure 5 (g)). Male terminalia: Epandrium nearly rectangular on posterolateral corners, with dense pubescence and setae ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (a)). Cercus lacking pubescence ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (a)). Surstylus small lobe-shaped, only with several setae distally ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (a, b)). Parameres absent ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (c, d)). Aedeagus dorsally sclerotized, apically slightly curved ventrad in lateral view, with sparse pubescence ventrally and one pair of small projections above peristome, slightly expanded outward on both sides of peristome ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (c, d)). Gonopods broadened to hood-shaped, not bilobed apically ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 (e)).
