– Females displaying dorsolateral rounded foliaceous ornamentations with irregular and spined edges in the meso- and metanotum coupled with abundant granules, lobes and spines over the body. Males with curved well-developed and slightly jagged spines on the head as well as smooth, dorsolateral spines on meso- and metanotum.At least abdominal segments II to IV bearing a pair of posterior spines. ….................................................................................. 1

Female with mesonotum displaying an upward curvature, bearing dorsolateral triangular foliaceous ornamentations with jagged edges in the meso- and metanotum and body densely covered in jagged spines, lobes and granules. Males with welldeveloped jagged spines on the head and dorsolateral, triangular flat spines on meso- and metanotum bearing irregular jagged edges. Abdominal segments II to IV bearing a pair of well-developed posterior conical spines; abdominal segment V bearing a posterior longitudinal oriented scale paired with small conical spines........................................... 2

1 – Female thoracic ornamentation usually semi-circular. Abdominal segments IV to VI and IX bearing a longitudinal dorsal crest. Meta- and mesotibia bearing multiple, well developed somewhat triangular lobes on all carinae, with better developed ornamentation around the median and posterior ends of metatibia. Male displaying a very faint or lacking a longitudinal dorsal line, usually beige in colour, from the end of the pronotum to the posterior margin of abdominal segment III. Meso- and metathoracic spines triangular, sometimes asymmetrical, gently oriented posteriorly. -. Both sexes displaying less ornamented meso- and metatibia. Female bearing elliptical and foliaceous thoracic dorsolateral projections, gently curved posteriorly. Abdominal segments V, VI and IX bearing scales ornaments oriented parallel to the posterior end, curved and slightly surpassing the following segment margin. Male bearing flat triangular spines on meso- and metanotum, sometimes asymmetrical. Dorsal black median line stretching from anterior end of mesonotum all the way to the posterior end of abdominal segment VI, less conspicuous after III. Abdominal segments II to IV bearing a pair of spines on posterior margin.
