Material examined
CHINA: Ningxia Autonomous Region, Guyuan County, Liupan Mountain Natural Conservation Area , 6.viii.1987, 19 males, light trap, X.H. Wang .
The species is described in detail by Fittkau (1962). The Chinese specimens have slightly lower LR 1 0.69–0.78, 0.74 (n = 19), LR 3 1.01–1.06, 1.03 (n = 19) and AR 0.4–0.54, 0.48 (n = 19) than the European specimens (LR 1 0.8, LR 3 1.1, AR 0.6), a higher LR 2 1.48–1.71, 1.55 (n = 19), and longer wing 1.64–1.94, 1.76 mm (n = 19) than the European specimens (LR 2 1.3–1.5, wing length 1.2–1.3 mm) described by Fittkau (1962).
Distribution
This species is distributed in Europe. In the revised checklist of the Chinese chironomids, Wang (2000) recorded the species from the Ningxia Province in
northwestern China. The present paper adds information on the exact locality of this record.
