Holotype: ♀. Type locality: 2000', 6 mi. S Valle Nacional, Oax. , Mex. V. 18-20, 1971, H. Howden ( CMNC).
D i a g n o s i s: The stramineous color of the elytra, in combination with the incised black macula on the pronotal disc, will distinguish the members of this species from congeners. The genus Pujoliclerus PIC was revised in 2014 ( OPITZ 2014d).
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 5.0 mm; width 2.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 340 View Figs 338-341 . Color: Cranium mostly testaceous, upper frons black; antenna black, except apex yellow; prothorax mostly testaceous, pronotal disc with incised black macula; mesothorax testaceous, infuscated; metathorax brown; elytra stramineous; prothoracic legs bicolored, femur mostly yellow, rest brown; mesothoracic and metathoracic legs yellow; abdomen brown. Head: Antenna ( Fig. 18 View Figs 1-27 ) capitate, 6 th antennomere expanded, capitular antennomeres 8 and 9 triangular, antennomere 10 ovate; eyes large, coarsely facetted, eye as wide as frons (EW/FW 30/20). Thorax: Pronotum ( Fig. 133 View Figs 118-133 ) slightly oblong (PW/PL 75/83), disc finely punctate, lateral tubercles well developed; elytral asetiferous punctures striate, extend to elytral apical 4/5 th (EL/EW 220/60). Abdomen: Pygidium scutiform.
N a t u r a l H i s t o r y: The holotype was collected in May.
D i s t r i b u t i o n: This species is known from Mexico.
E t y m o l o g y: The trivial name, cnecostus, is a Greek adjective that stems from knekos (= pale yellow); with regards to the coloration of the elytral disc.
