Pokornyopsis cf. bettenstaedti (Bartenstein, 1949) View in CoL

Figs. 5/10–12

Material. Csurgókút, Toarcian: 7 carapaces; Somhegy, Bajocian: 1 carapace.

Dimensions. L: 500–846 µm, H: 420–738 µm, L/H: 1.14–1.23.

Remarks. The studied specimens are identical to the holotype described by Bartenstein (1949) with regard to their shape and outline in lateral view, but their reticulate ornamentation and posterodorsal tubercle are weak or absent on the valve surface. The differences between the specimens and the holotype with respect to ornamentation may be due to the poor preservation potential of the former.

Occurrences. Csurgókút, Tata, Hungary: Toarcian, Lower Jurassic (this paper); Somhegy, Hungary: Bajocian, Middle Jurassic (present study); borehole Luttrum-2, NW-Germany: Toarcian, Lower Jurassic (Bartenstein 1949).
