Family Moinidae Goulden, 1968 View in CoL View at ENA

Moina macrophtalma Stingelin, 1913 View in CoL . Recorded by Stingelin (1913) in Colombia. This species is considered among synonyms of Moina micrura View in CoL ( Kotov et al. 2013a), but if known populations from the Neotropics will be regarded as belonging to a separate species, one of them could be M. macrophthalma .

37. Moina reticulata (Daday, 1905) View in CoL . Recorded by Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 17). It is considered a Neotropical species ( Paggi 1973; Kotov et al. 2013a), while populations from Africa ( Lamoot & Dumont 1974) probably belong to a separate, yet undescribed species. In Colombia, it has been reported from the Amazon and Caribbean regions.

38. Moinodaphnia macleayi Herrick, 1887 View in CoL . Recorded by Pearse (1916); Barón-Rodríguez et al. (2006); Aranguren-Riaño et al. (2011); Brehm (1956); Gaviria (2001); Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 15) and Fuentes- Reinés (2014a). It is widely distributed in the tropics and subtropics of the Old and New World, penetrating into non-tropical areas of Asia and North America ( Goulden 1968). In Colombia, it has been reported from the Andean, Amazon and Caribbean regions. The genus needs to be revised worldwide.
