Distribution. ITE— India (Andaman & Nicobar Islands); PTW—Moorea, Bora Bora, Society Islands.

Remarks. The present species belongs to the Copidognathus temaeus group ( Bartsch 1997; Chatterjee et al. 2006). Main characteristics of temaeus group are: palps short, hardly surpassing the rostrum; Palpal segment 2 with spinular lamella; telofemur I often with spinular ventral lamella; tibia I with 2 blunt spurs with spinose tips ( Bartsch 1997). Four species are known in ‘ C. temaeus group’ so far: C. temaeus Bartsch from Moorea, Bora Bora, Society Islands, western Pacific and Andaman Islands, Indian Ocean ( Bartsch 1992a; Chatterjee 1996a), C.malaysius Bartsch, 1993 from Archipelago Tioman, eastern coast of Malaysia ( Bartsch 1993), C. elaborates Bartsch 1997 from northern Australia ( Bartsch 1997) and C. fungiae Chatterjee, De Troch & Chang 2006 from South Korea (Chatterjee et al. 2006).
