Bruch (1911) described S. dinellii View in CoL from Argentina (Tucumán) and, in the same work, S. missionum View in CoL from Argentina (Misiones). Martins (1975) synonymized the latter with S. dinellii View in CoL . Currently, the species is known from Brazil (Bahia, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul), Paraguay and Argentina (Salta, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Misiones) ( Monné 2022a).
