Distribution: India: Dharamshala, Assam, Sikkim ( Hampson, 1892); Darjeeling (Jiang et al., 2016). Elsewhere: Nepal, Burma ( Hampson, 1892); Nepal (Jiang et al., 2016).
Remarks: Jiang et al. (2016) considered five valid subspecies under Cyclidia substigmaria (Hübner, 1831) and treated Cyclidia substigmaria brunnea Chu & Wang, 1987 and Cyclidia tetraspota Chu & Wang, 1987 as its synonym.The nominotypical subspecies from China and Vietnam; C. substigmaria intermedia Prout, 1918 (Tibet); C. substigmaria nigralbara Warren, 1914 ( Japan and Korea); C. substigmaria modesta Bryk, 1943 (Mynamar) are not known from India.
