Distribution: India: South India, Sikkim, Darjeeling (Watson, 1957), Uttarakhand ( Smetacek, 2002). Elsewhere: Vietnam (Watson, 1957).
Remarks: Apart from this and below mentioned species, there are four other subspecies: T. albonotata angusta Watson, 1957 (Borneo, Sumatra, Malaysia; T. albonotata rotunda Watson, 1957 (Bali, Java); T. albonotata celebesensis Watson, 1957 (Sulawesi); T. alhonotata ferrea ( Hampson, 1892) Sri lanka. However, Holloway (1998) considered all the species under T. albonotata without mentioning Syn. Nov., though in distribution he mentioned different subspecies restricted to specific areas.
