Distribution: India: Darjeeling, Sikkim (Moore, 1881; László et al., 2007). Elsewhere: China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand ( László et al., 2007; Jiang et al., 2015; Zhuang et al., 2017).

Remark: Further valid subspecies are H. decorata takamukui ( Matsumura, 1921) from Taiwan and H. decorata kawamurae ( Matsumura, 1921) from Japan.
