DIAGNOSIS: Differing from M. chilensis by median ridges of pronotum Sshaped, shifted posteriad and reaching behind posterior margin of pronotum (ridges curved and posterior margin of pronotum straight in M. chilensis ); different number, size and distribution of protuberances on tegmina: one distinct elongate tubercle at base along claval vein (indistinct tubercle at base and elevated ridge transecting claval suture in caudad half of claval suture in M. chilensis ); five tubercles on discal area of tegmen, and tubercles on vein M oval and well separated (tubercles on vein M elongate and close to each other in form of ridge in M. chilensis ). Genital vestibulum in female with pair of sclerotizations (gonangula), widen in lower portion and narrow in upper half.

DESCRIPTION: Total length of female 5.73 mm. General colour dark brown, shining, face dark brown with dark tawny mark in median portion of frontoclypeus and its protuberances, anteclypeus tawny in median portion, lora dark tawny; antennal furrows sooty.

Head with compound eyes 2.1 mm wide, about twice as wide as long in mid line. Vertex sinuate at anterior margin, 0.98 mm long in mid line, 1.69 mm wide, lateral tubercles prominent. Frontoclypeus ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13–15 ) 1.01 mm high in mid line, 0.95 mm wide. Pronotum 0.69 mm long in mid line, 2.6 mm wide, paranotal lobes distinct, triangular, directed caudad. Tegmina ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 13–15 ) 4.23 mm long, 2.14 mm wide, irregularly oval. Costal margin ridge like, thickened in basal portion, forming two distinct ridges, external and internal slightly bent under tegmen. Vein R with two round prominent tubercles in its median portion, longitudinal protuberance of common stem M+Cu absent, vein M with two oval tubercles in half and 2 / 3 of tegmen length, vein Cu with big, prominent, triangular tubercle just beyond half of tegmen length. Claval suture with two elongate ridges basally and just before half of tegmen length. Claval vein with protuberance in form of longitudinal ledge cephalad, not reaching half of vein. Ridges and tubercles with setiferous bullae.

Hind tibia 1.9 mm long.

Female sternite 8 th large, 1.24 mm wide, 0.54 mm long in mid line, deeply cleft in midline, not covering base of ovipositor; laterally of median cleft pair of fissures not reaching caudal margin. Female pygofer 1.21 mm long, covered with setiferous bullae, setae hooked, lateral lobe of pygofer with small projection caudad. Ovipositor 1.8 mm long. Genital vestibulum in female with pair of sclerotizations, widen in lower portion and narrow in upper half ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13–15 ).

Male: unknown.
