Diplopherusa Heller, 1922: 530 (original description). CORPORAAL & VAN DER WIEL (1949): 183 (key to species).
Type species. Diplopherusa tumidipes Heller, 1922 , by monotypy.
Diagnosis (for the Japanese and Taiwanese species). This genus is similar to Paracladiscus , but is distinguished from it by the following characters: head and pronotum vested with fine punctation; terminal segments of labial palpi widely triangular, their length equal to 1/3 of width of apical margin of terminal palpomeres ( Fig. 19 View Figs 19–24 ); postgular processes dilated distally at extremities; anterior plate of metendosternite ( Fig. 20 View Figs 19–24 ) wide, slightly extended anteriorly; hind tibiae in male ( Fig. 21 View Figs 19–24 ) swollen posteriorly; phallobasic struts (Figs 44, 46, 48, 50) well developed. This genus is also similar to Cladiscus , Gracilotillus , Egenocladiscus , and
Orthocladiscus , but distinctly differs from these genera in swollen male hind tibiae. A key to these genera was published by CORPORAAL & VAN DER WIEL (1949).
