Type locality. United States of America. Distribution. United States of America, Mexico (Michoacán [new record], Morelos), Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Hispaniola , Colombia, Venezuela, French Guiana, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina (see complete distribution by districts/departments/states on Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023).

Remarks. Lypsimena fuscata is widely distributed in America, from the USA to Argentina. The other species of Lypsimena Haldeman, 1847 recorded from Mexico is L. strandiella Breuning, 1943 , known from Puebla.
