DESCRIPTION. — Integument black, densely covered in dull, pale-ochre coloured scales except on middle of head, rostrum and pronotum; setae short, squamiform, prostrate. Prothorax sparsely granulose. Elytra finely striato-punctate, not sulcate, lacking elevations except for apical knobs.

Length: 9.0- 14.5 mm.

TYPE MATERIAL. — Species described from a single specimen. Holotype female, 13.0 x 6.4 mm, ‘Balade, n. gen. douei Montr. , type, Coll. Fauvel’, IRSN. Identified non-type specimens with BPBM, IRSN, NHML, NZAC, SMT.D, SRFP.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — New Caledonia. Balade, Forêt Nord, Mt. Koghi , Mt. Mou, Nouméa, Pic d’Amoa, Plateau de Dogny, Pocquereux nr La Foa. 28 specimens .
