Genus Neorhytidelasma Mironov and Pérez

Neorhytidelasma triventris ( Trouessart, 1884)

Hosts and distribution. This species was described ex Ara macao (Linnaeus) (as Arara canga ), and Ara chloropterus (Gray) (as Arara chloroptera ) ( Psittaciformes : Psittacidae ) from “l’Amérique Méridionale”

( Trouessart 1884). Later on, it was recollected from the last host from Colombia (Dept. Antioquia, Puerto Valdivia) ( Atyeo et al. 1988) and from Venezuela (Tachira), Colombia and Guyana ( Mironov & Pérez 2003).

Material examined. Ex Aratinga wagleri (Gray) ( Psittaciformes : Psittacidae ): 2 males and 2 females, Dept. Valle del Cauca: Jamundí, 1000 m, 23 January 1957, coll. J. Durán, UV No. 1538.
