This small subfamily contains some unusual figitid species endemic to Australia. Mikeius was originally placed within Thrasorinae , a subfamily containing Thrasorus , another gall-associated figitid from Australia. Following a phylogenetic analysis, Paretas-Martinez et al. (2011) removed Mikeius from Thrasorinae and placed it in its own subfamily, Mikeiinae . Very rare in collections, but large numbers can be reared from Ophelimus (Eulophidae) infested Eucalyptus trees in Australia.
Biology. Primary parasitoid of Ophelimus spp. ( Eulophidae : Chalcidoidea) on Eucalyptus spp.
