Distribution: Argentina, Brazil (CE, PE new record, MG, RJ, PR, SP, SC), Paraguay and Uruguay ( Rolston 1978).

Examined material: 13.VII.2018 (1 ♂).

Comments. Rolston (1978) revised the genus Mormidea and provided a complete redescription of M. v-luteum. This species has been recorded feeding on several crops, such as birdseed, rice, soy, and wheat ( Lopes et al. 1974)
