Bithoracochaeta calopus: Pont (2000: 8 , types), Carvalho et al. (2005: 177, taxonomic history), Couri (2005: 256, diagnosis). Syn. Limnophora rufipes Bigot, 1885: 272 View in CoL . Type locality: Mexique (= Mexico).

Syn. Bithoracochaeta atricornis Malloch, 1934: 227 . Type locality: Argentina, Viedma .

Diagnosis. Antenna dark brown; hind tibia with 4 median setae (one each on anteroventral, anterodorsal, posterodorsal and posteroventral surfaces); mid and hind femora with a brown stripe; short, tubular hypandrium ( Couri 2005).

Distribution. Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico ( Carvalho et al. 2005; Couri 2005).
