Ommatoleucon ocularis ( Hale, 1945) View in CoL

Leucon ocularis Hale, 1945: 86 –89, figs. 1–2.

Ommatoleucon ocularis View in CoL .— Watling, 1991: 574, fig. 2.— Mühlenhardt-Siegel, 2003: 57, fig. 19.

Material examined. None.

Diagnosis. Female and subadult male. Carapace with three large teeth dorsally on frontal lobe. Pseudorostrum extending 0.3 times carapace length anterior of frontal lobe, blunt, with setae. Antennal notch excavate, anteroventral corner acute. Eyelobe with distinct single large central visual element. Uropod endopod uniarticulate. Adult male. Carapace without serrations, teeth or setae. Pseudorostrum extending 0.15 times carapace length anterior of frontal lobe, blunt. Antennal flagellum extending to pleonite 6. Maxilliped 3 to pereopod 4 exopods with expanded bases.

Remarks. Ommatoleucon ocularis can easily be differentiated from O. megalopos n. sp. by the uropod endopod. In O. ocularis the uropod endopod is uniarticulate, and in O. megalopos the uropod endopod is biarticulate.
