Diagnosis. Males of E. pugionifer are easily recognized by the long RTA spear-shaped, reaching almost half of the cymbium, and this one with a deep concavity accommodating it. Females have a large oval atrium with a conspicuous anterior border and inconspicuous lateral border in a potion near the spermathecae ( Figs 12 View FIGURE 12 , 13 View FIGURE 13 ).

Description. (See Jocqué & Baert, 2005). Supplementary information: Male (UFMG 5719). Clypeus height: 0.74. Eyes: diameters AME 0.12, ALE 0.12, PME 0.14, PLE 0.16. Interdistances AME-AME 0.08, AME-ALE 0.16, PME-PME 0.12, PME-PLE 0.32, ALE-PLE 0.08.

Female (MPEG 003531). Clypeus height: 0.94. Eyes: diameters AME 0.12, ALE 0.1, PME 0.12, PLE 0.12. Interdistances AME-AME 0.06, AME-ALE 0.14, PME-PME 0.12, PME-PLE 0.4, ALE-PLE 0.1.

Variation. Males (n = 10): total length 6‾6.5, carapace 2.86‾3.0, femur I 1.7‾2.1. Females (n = 6): total length 7.12‾7.40, carapace 3.4‾3.59, femur I 1.93‾2.23.

Distribution. Brazil (south of Pará and north of Mato Grosso) ( Fig. 42 View FIGURE 42 ).
