Diagnosis. Harpactea fageli is similar to H. henriquesi sp. nov. and H. gaditana . The males differ from these two species by thick S-shaped conductor ( Fig. 4A—c View FIGURE 4 ). The females differ from H. henriquesi sp. nov. and H. gaditana by more sclerotised anterior arc and median rod ( Fig. 6A View FIGURE 6 —aa, mr). The median rod lacks terminal globule, it possesses crest for attaching muscles ( Fig. 6A View FIGURE 6 —mr).

Ecology. It inhabits humid leaf litter in Quercus forests as well as Pinus plantations.

Distribution. It occurs in mountains in central Spain and northern Portugal (Ferrandez & Ferrandez 1990: 49, fig. 4).
