Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium (introduced), Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Moldova, southern part of European Russia, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, F. Y. Republic of Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Malta, SW-Kazakhstan, SW-Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Algeria, Libya. Introduced in North America and Argentina ( Komnenov, 2014). Chorotype. Mediterranean-Middle Asiatic.
