Field Characters. Tree 15–30 m high and up to 30 cm diam. with rough grey bark, discolorous leaves, greenish-white fragrant flowers and ferrugineous brown fruit, flowering from September to November in Bahia and Espirito Santo, in March in Pernambuco.

Distribution & Ecology. Pernambuco and Bahia, Brazil, in wet lowland forest, ascending to 600 m elevation in Pernambuco.
