Abbreviated Description. Indumentum of simple hairs, leaflets usually (3–)5–7(–9), opposite or subopposite, mostly 3.5–10.5 cm long, 1–5 cm broad, usually elliptic, less frequently oblanceolate, oblong or lanceolaate, densely glandular-punctate and -striate, and usually with a tuft of hairs in the axils of the secondary veins below, inflorescence a slender to broad thyrse, axillary or several clustered at apex in the axils of scale-leaves, 3–10 cm long, petals 5, mostly 2–3.5 mm long, free, imbricate, filaments completely fused or sometimes free at the apex, anthers (9–)10(–11), nectary a small annulus, ovary 3-locular, glabrous, locules with 2 collateral ovules, style-head capitate, discoid or lobed, fruit 0.7–2 cm long, mostly 3-valved, usually ellipsoid, papillose to pubescent, seeds 1–3, arillode developed only around the upper half and along the abaxial surface.
